  • How will the sessions be conducted?
    You will need a computer or laptop with a camera and access to high speed internet. We will use the video conferencing software Zoom and the online whiteboard software BitPaper. You will receive the details of this setup along with your welcome package.
  • Will online tutoring be the same as In-Person tutoring?
    When online tutoring is done the right way and with the right tools, it can yield amazing results the same way In-person tutoring can. Many of my students transitioned from in-home tutoring to online tutoring during the COVID19 Pandemic. The transition has been very smooth. The parents and I have noticed continued and significant gains in their chidren's progress. One thing that will not be the same though is that you will not have to drive your child to his/her session in the midst of traffic. ;)
  • How can we communicate with each other?
    We will use and app called Voxer. The Voxer app is free and it works like a walkie talkie. I will use Voxer to leave feedback about the session and the student's progress. You may also ask me any questions you have. I also utilize Google Classroom when assigning homework. I will provide you with more details if your student requires homework.
  • Why should I choose Accelerate Tutoring?
    I have been serving families for over ten years. When you work with me, you are not just getting a tutor that will give your student one on one attention and customized instruction; you are getting someone who will be there to listen, encourage, and empower your student so that he/she can not only improve their performance but also increase in their confidence to embrace the challenges academic life brings.
  • How many sessions per week should I schedule for my child?
    I usually recommend meeting a student at least twice a week for better results. After our consultation call, I will provide my recommendation. However, it is up to you how often and how long we will meet. As the parent, you know your child the best.
  • How long is a tutoring session?
    Sessions are hourly.
  • What are your fees?

  • Do you offer discounts or specials?
    I offer a 10 dollars discount for twoconsecutive hours of tutoring. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you can get access to any special promotions/discounts we may offer.
  • How can I make a payment?
    I collect all of my payments electronically through Stripe. Payments need to be made before the session/s begin. Details are provided within your Welcome Packet.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    If you need to cancel or reschedule a session for any reason please do so at least 24 hours prior to our scheduled session. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours may not be rescheduled or refunded. It will be as if the session took place. Exceptions may be made in case of emergency.
  • What is your no-show policy?
    It is important that you communicate with me as soon as possible if you know that the student will be late to the tutoring session . If a student does not arrive within 15 minutes of a scheduled session time, they will be considered a “no-show”. This is treated the same as a late cancellation and this session cannot be rescheduled. Time missed due to a late arrival will not be made up.
  • How do I reschedule a session?
    Send an email to acceleratetutoringny@gmail.com. At least 24 hours notice is required.
  • Is Accelerate Tutoring Bilingual?
    Yes, we offer english and spanish sessions.
  • What is your planned absence policy?
    Give at least one week notice if you will be away on vacation or need to miss a session due to medical appointments, sports schedules, etc. This will allow ample time to reschedule accordingly.
